 Dear User,

May I take this opportunity in welcoming you all to the Prosthetic User Group's web site.
For those of you that were not at the forum meeting in April 2009 let me explain where we came from and more importantly where we hope to take us all.
At the forum meeting it was suggested by Archie Kaul-Mead, Head of Physiotherapy, that perhaps those present would like to form a user group, which was agreed. Volunteers were asked for so that a committee could be formed. Nine people volunteered and a date was set for the initial committee meeting to take place. Unfortunately due to bad health we lost one member early on.
Since that day we have met seven times, working hard towards putting the User Group onto a sound footing and giving it a constitution to work within. We have also adopted a Mission Statement so no one can be in any doubt as to what we stand for and what we wish to achieve.
We have hosted two further open forum meetings and reports on these can be found on our Forum Reports page.
The members of the committee bring a wealth of expertise and personal knowledge in the world of the amputee. With the help of the Trust, we hope to use this when taking the group forward, it is our aim to work for the benefit of all users of the Prosthetic clinic, their carers and families at all times.
Membership of the User Group is free, all you have to do is email us your name and address and we will add you to our mailing list. You will then receive two newsletters a year and invites to all open forum meetings of which there are at least two a year.
